Wow, sounds like Buddy's guitar is out of phase. Guess he wasn't using a strat on that one!

And speaking of shuffles, there's the Purdie shuffle (as in Bernard Purdie, legendary session drummer). It's best exemplified in Steely Dan's Home at Last

It probably was a ‘61/‘62 LP Custom(SG) he had around that time. I would guess in the middle pickup position, but I’m not that familiar w/ Gibson 3 pup guitars. It was stollen a year or two after he recorded the album with Junior Wells. He then signed an endorsement agreement with Guild till the early ‘80s when he began to play strats again. Seems he had a problem with guitars being stolen from his apartment. He had a ‘50s gold top w/ p90s stolen, which lead to the Custom. (Information collected from GroundGuitars com)
