Greetings.

This is a poll for Filtertron users. No write-ins, please.

I like Filtertrons best with hollow bodies because the sound is 'clearer' to me, if that makes any sense.

I'm confused. A Centerblock guitar is always a semi-hollow, right?
So a semi-solid is a chambered solid body like my LP? OK, I think I understand it now, sorry.

I’ve never played Filtertrons in anything but a hollow body. So I’m no help.

Although I’m itching to try out a double cut jet with Filtertrons. Get a little Malcolm Young rhythm going. Lol

Filtertrons are my favourite pickups so i think i would like them everywhere .... all i've got is hollowbodys except for 1 jet and 1 acoustic.
So yeah i'm a Filtertron and a hollowbody guy so i voted hollowbody

Ok so I went with Hollowbody as that would be my choice if I only had 1 guitar to put them in.

Now to elaborate with the FT's I have personal experience with, just for fun lol.
Blacktop FT - Jet
HS FT - Will take in both Jet or HB
Dynas - Jet
TVJ Classics/+ - Jet and 17inch HB, not a fan in 16' HB (dunno why but that's me)
Powertrons - HB, Not that they don't sound good in a Jet but I feel I have other solid body guitars that I could use.
TJV Ray Butts - No idea, still haven't installed them in anything yet....... should really get around to that.

Both! My Gretsch addiction began when I test drove a G5120 and a G5420 back-to-back through a DRRI at Guitar Center over 10 years ago. I was sold on the Blacktop Filtertrons in the hollowbody guitar and soon ordered a 5420 of my own.

I caught the modding bug and ended up with TVJ pickups and wiring in the 5420, and then later missed the “attitude” of the BTFT’s and bought a Double Jet with BTFT’s and Tele-style wiring (MV+MT). Lots of jangle there!

All that to say that there is a definite difference between the Filtertrons on my hollowbody and my chambered solid body. I love ‘em both!

I had them on both hollowbodies like a Tennessee Rose, a Country Gentleman, a G6122 Jr. and a semi-solid Duojet.

I'd probly pick hollowbodies by a slight edge, but they really sounded good on my late '80s early '90s fixed tailpiece Duojet too.

Gretsch really nailed it with their pickups. Not just the Filtertrons, but the Hilo'Trons and Dynasonics too.

I’d like to try a proper Cabronita or Duo Jet someday.
But so far I’m satisfied with Filterteons in my White Falcon and my Nashville.

I had the neck pickup switched to a TVJ T-Armond for a while in my Falcon. I did it for a studio date and ended up keeping it in for over a year. It was so cool!
But I missed the middle position with dual Trons so it’s back to normal for now.
I’m going to hold on to the T-Armond in case I wanna put it back in someday.

I tried them on a friend’s Tele a ways back and they were cool. Very different but cool.

I preferred them in my 6120, just because it’s a more familiar sound, but I’d consider throwing them into another solid body build sometime.
