60 Years ago today ( 8-15-1965 ) ...who'da thought

My first bigger concert was Kiss at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicagoland in 1974 or 75. I attended several of the Super Bowl of Rock concerts. ELP was interesting as Keith Emerson wrote a piece performed with the Chicago Symphony. I remember seeing Foghat and J Geils, I think at the same concert.

The best concert of my life was another SB of Rock: Pink Floyd’s Animals/Wish You Were Here tour in 1977. I’ve seen a bunch of live music in my life but that was like nothing else. I remember the day in the mid-1990s when the pink concert t-shirt from that day finally disintegrated in the dryer.

Apparently nobody could hear a thing because of the crowd noise and the weak sound system.

I was just 17 (???) and went to see/hear them in Chicago August 12, 1966. From my seat, I neither saw nor heard them at ALL! What a mess........It was purely screaming from my position. Oh well, it didn't cost much.

John's 12 string Rickenbacker 325/12 is out of tune and there are truly live performances of She's A Woman and Act Naturally. The latter was dubbed using the studio recording for the ABC broadcast.

I was there in Shea Stadium 1965. The screaming was intense. I worked at the NY Worlds Fair, right accross the walkway from Shea.

Thanks. I was way back left of center..... I didn't hear or see any of the opening acts (really?!?! there were opening acts?!) and then the screaming just "grew"..... Seeing the Stones that year was totally different - I saw AND heard them. I'm glad to have this pic, so thanks!

I read an article today that opined that one reason for the Beatles' original success and the music explosion of the early '60s was as response to the horror of the Kennedy assassination. It was a way for the world to feel better afterwards. Life goes on.

I remember reading or hearing that back in the 70's--- at least I think it was the 70's?
