Thanks!
Thanks for the nice props folks! I recorded the tune with a recently purchased Zoom Q3HD and it turned out pretty good - the sound is quite clear and the video looks not too bad either. I'm just learning how to use it.
It helps if you have good lighting - the Zoom really doesn't record...
My Gretsch Anniversary Jr helping me and some other local musicians rock out on Whole Lotta Shakin' - done with a bluesey vibe. Enjoy!

The Danelectro Cool Cat tremolo pedal is definitely worth getting - it's really cheap and very good sounding - much better than the Boss pedal by a long shot.
As for you not liking the Jeff Beck clip, well, it is often said that there is no accounting for taste...but I think that after a few...
I have an Anniversary Jr that I bought about 6 months ago. It's a great axe - plays wonderfully and sounds amazing. The only things I changed on it are: I pinned the bridge, replaced the space control bridge with a tunamatic with Graphtech saddles, and installed Sperzel locking tuners.
The...
I dabble in just about every style of music but my stock in trade is blues - leaning towards the West Coast jump/swing end of things, but I have no problem with the more raw Chicago and Texas styles.
I don't see many Gretsch guitars in the hands of blues players (Strats, Les Pauls, 335s are...
I'm on the same page with you on that - I think that I need at least one more Jr. Of course I need to come up with the requisite cash, so from now on all my gigging bucks will be going into an account for my next Gretsch. Time to start looking for more and better paying gigs!
Well, it arrived last week - right in the middle of a busy schedule so I didn't get much of a chance to play with it at first. I just happened to be home when the postal van pulled up and the driver asked if I was expecting a parcel - oh yeah! -and there in the back of his van was a large...
Bear - I've never had my Deluxe tested for output wattage with the 6L6 tubes, but the clean headroom has improved quite a bit. With 6V6 tubes the amp used to start breaking up pretty good past 4 on the volume knob, but with the tube swap, it's more like 6 before breaking up. It sounds a little...
If you want more clean headroom out of your Deluxe, you can change the output power tubes to 6L6's (you have to re-bias the amp, but that's all it takes). I did this to my Deluxe last year and really like the result.
Hey AB - the "professional" Epiphone guy sounds kind of sketchy. I've installed a few Bigsby's myself, and have checked out quite a few others just out of curiosity, and most of them have little felt dots glued on their undersides where they make contact with the body of the guitar so they won't...
I played one in a store a year or so ago - it got sold pretty fast - then this past week I pulled the trigger and bought one on ebay - I'll give a review when it gets here.
It's the same color as the regular Anniversary - "smoke green" top, dark green back and sides, ebony fingerboard and chrome hardware. I like the colors but some folks think they are a little gaudy. Hey, it's a Gretsch, it's ok to go a little overboard on the looks - that's part of the...
Nice to be here with all you fine Gretsch fans. I have a 5120 (about 8 months now - pinned the bridge and installed Sperzels) and will have an Anniversary Jr real soon (on it's way in a few days).
I've been playing for a long time, but until recently, never even played a Gretsch. After I played...
