Floating Bridge and Double Stick Tape

Thanks for the help gang. I bought to rosin yesterday and will give it a try. If I have any issues I'll upgrade to super thin tape @Robbie and @Tony56x55 were referring to. Appreciate the help!

Floating Bridge and Double Stick Tape

So my tech unpinned my bridge on my PJ so I can better intonate my Compton bridge. I plan to use double stick tape to hold the bridge in place. I remember reading on this forum that's that Setzer does. I've also read on this forum that some folks use rosin. My question is which works best in...

    Inconsistent Fretboard Radius

So here's what my tech did to fix my intonation issues I was having with my Power Jet. Power Jet Compton Bridge by jcweatherly, on Flickr He had to unpin the bridge and set it at a higher angle relative to the pickups and neck. It works much better now. I just have to put some double sided...

Fret Size: Duo Jet vs. Power Jet

It's amazing how many vintage fret haters are out there;)

Fret Size: Duo Jet vs. Power Jet

My 2008 Power Jet has vintage frets, and I love them. There, I said it.

    Inconsistent Fretboard Radius

I don't think Power Jets are custom orders. I've never heard of that. Of course I'm no Grestch expert. It's a 2008 PJ. *Oops. I thought you were responding to me @calvin lee. Sorry for the mix up.

    Inconsistent Fretboard Radius

I was incorrect. It's 7.25 at the nut and 11 at the heel. I believe it's the heel that matters the most when trying to match a bar type bridge such as a Compton. I'm no tech so I could be wrong. The closet Compton would be a 12" which is what I have. Going to try unpinning the bridge and see if...

Getting a Compton To Intonate (Better) on a Fixed Bridge

So what brand of TOM is that? You mentioned you got it off of e-bay, but is it a Wilkinson brand? I may have to compromise as well with a locking TOM. My tech is still trying to get things to work with the Compton. He may unpin my bridge so it's adjustable.

Getting a Compton To Intonate (Better) on a Fixed Bridge

I've been having intonation issues with my Compton on my Power Jet as well. However, Compton's design is not to blame. I ordered a 12 in. radius from Pops and that's what the specs are for the PJ. Just do a quick internet search and that's what you get. However, my luthier has found my neck is...

    Inconsistent Fretboard Radius

Glad I was shown this thread. This is the exact issue my PowerJet has. I have a Compton bridge with a 12 radius, however my luither (he sent me this thread) has found my neck is actually compound. It's 7.25 at the nut and maybe a 10 at the 12th fret. When I looked up the specs on the PowerJet...

    TV Jones PowerTron or Classic?

I have a Power Jet and play mostly worship stuff like you. I love the Powertron in the bridge postion. Man, it gets a really nice chimey drive with drive pedals. I've never used Classics so I can't compare. I like a lot of mids and chime and the Powertron's seem to deliver.

    Power Jet incoming!

Congrats on the PJ! I've had one for just over a year now and love it. I haven't changed a thing on it. I plan to do a treble bleed mod on the master volume, and possibly swap out the neck pickup to something brighter (P90 whenever TV Jones creates one to drop in). Enjoy!

    PJ Neck pup suggestions?

Wow, no response. I guess throwing a P90 into a Gretsch is a no no;)

    PJ Neck pup suggestions?

So I've been playing my Power Jet for a couple of years and I love it. Easy to play, great tone, and looks cool. I think most of us would agree;) However, I don't love the neck pickup. When using the neck and bridge together there really isn't much difference in sound to just using the neck...
