Looking for advice.

When I bought my 6122 II it came with a new set of TV Jones T-Armond pickups.

My plan was to use the 6122 for awhile and swap them out but I like that (and the T/Rose) too much to make changes.

I had in the past a 5120 which was an AMAZING guitar to play but I just didn't like the sound it had. Even tried some GFS Liverpool (or similar, cant quite recall now) retrotrons but it still had a honk I din't like...ended up selling it.

I'm looking at a used 5120 for quite a good price and wonder If it might be a suitable recipient of the T-Armonds.

Catch is they are a NE Mount......does anyone know, can these be made to fit a 5120?

If they are in Filtertron cases with screw holes in the top, you can jury rig an English mount by using a bar underneath that's suspended from the pickup rings.

If they are a conventional shape, like a Dynasonic, you can drill holes in the 5120 pickup surrounds to match the screw holes in the corners of the Dyna shell, and screw the Dynas to the surrounds. Looks a bit Heath Robinson though.

Thank you for the advice guys . Sadly the guitar ended up goign for more than i thought it would so let it pass.

Anyway, for reference sake here was the reply i got from TV Jones themselves...

It is possible to mount the No Ears T-Series in your 5120. You’ll need to mount the pickup to a small piece of wood. Then you can suspend the attached wood piece to a pair of our Gretsch mounting rings (EM2). You will also need a pack of Ring Risers to get the pickup to the correct height because the neck angle of this guitar is on the higher side.
