I’m walking through a store a couple days ago and what do I hear? Winchester Cathedral! Dad used to play a Boots Randolph album with this song a lot back in the ‘60s and ‘70s. This version however was one with someone singing It. I haven’t heard that is multiples of decades easily tue ‘70s since I heard it last on the radio. I’m wondering if someone has redone it or if it was an older version.

have you all heard any older music that just hasn’t been mainstream in a long time? What goes around comes around maybe some of the older generations of music is having more current influences.

When Margaret Thatcher died, "Ding! Dong! The Witch Is Dead!" from the Wizard of Oz had a resurgence in England. I don't see that as a positive.

Because of its use in a TV show, Kate Bush's "Climb That Hill" re-entered the mainstream.

Store Muzak never fails to surprise me.

I always had thought Clash's Should I Stay Or Should I Go was a great song and convinced the band I was in to cover it.

Then few months later it was used In a Levi's ad and suddenly whole world agreed...

Queen music . Laid low for a while.
Then the movie " Waynes World " and " Bohemian Rhapsody " skyrocketed the charts again of coarse with the song " Bohemian Rhapsody "

That‘s what I’m talking about. Some music seems eternal but some that was good just seemed to disappear. probably to make room for some poppy formulaic top chart hit that looses favor quickly. I love it when songs that became forgotten get some current air time. There are days I’m sick of all the old hits that seem to be on some timed rotation everyday!

There are a lot of newer bands in Europe that write 80's hair metal style music and do it better in some cases then bands from the 80's. Started following a lot of these bands probably about 5 years ago. This band is a great example. I love the nostalgia in this.

I remember visiting my in-laws and my serious country & western fan mother-in-law was listening to Dan Fogelberg & Eric Weisburg's "Twin Sons of Different Mothers". She was a constant surprise. Definitely unexpected music.
