No more excuses, here's what happens when you take a classic early 80s Rat circuit
and make it sweeter, smoover, and expand its EQ versatility not to mention compression. You
get the Marquesan stomp, a wide range overdrive to saturated distortion pedal that loves all guitars
w a quick little pushbutton on the side for hollowbody guitars and solid body guitars, single coil or humbuckers.

Summer sale starting at $165

I had a head scratching moment the other day, when I was doing a demo video for the Zoomtrons I'd installed into my Tiger Jet. Since I was playing through my 65' princeton 112, I felt I needed some mids fatness so I plugged in my
Marquesan Stomp and set it as a clean boost even though its known for its rock in rock lead sound from the 80s forward.
...Anyway so I'm doing this vid about the pickups and the pedal's just there to make the amp tolerable as Im not thrilled w blackface for gretsch guits, and I start getting a bunch of sales for the marquesan pedal.
The head scratcher was I got literally NO response from the RJ Ronquillo video
that was quite costly to do. He is CRAZY good, and he repped my pedal perfectly but it just didnt fire.

I was left holding a batch of 100 Marquesan enclosures, so I only built out 30 of them so far. Ultimately
now selling them just above cost. Who was the one on this forum talking me into bringing back the Ubangi Stomp ?? :) :) I went nuts and revamped it
from the ubangi stomp to the marquesan stomp :)

I had to chuckle as I was getting Pm's that it had a vintage soul tone to it. that it sounded like the guitars on early Stax
recordings! :) Apparently tweeked n massaged rat circuit can comp something all together different w a blackface princeton :) I did put a tonetubby alnico hemp cone 12" in it called the chicago blue. A big improvement over the stock Cannibis rex by eminence that Fender spec'd for it.

Does it sound like Stax era guitar w my zoomtron'd jet?? Guess I need to go back into my albums and investigate.

here's the link to video if you have instagram

and the link to the video on facebook

So word on the streets is that Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme, keeps a Rat pedal on, set to low gain for dynamics... Maybe someone can get him a Marquesan because this is its specialty! And.. Nuno... good lord he's insanely good.

Nuno is one of my first-string (no pun intended) musicians. I've got a lot of respect for the guy and he's been one of my inspirations for decades.

Maybe I'll try this trick with my Marq.

Oh, and Tavo. I wore my Marquesan shirt to the Sevendust/Alter Bridge show in Chattanooga a few weeks back. Ended up hanging out with the band and was discussing your stuff with Clint Lowery and Lajon Witherspoon. Just spreading the love.

Keep the beauty coming, man.

I appreciate the rep! I got to meet Mark Tremonti at the PRS booth several yrs ago when he was at NAMM. I'm not familiar with Sevendust though unfortunately. I'll give a listen.

As an aside, apologies for any shades of thread hijack,,,, I remember seeing the Lowery brothers multiple times in a small club in Indy, right up the road from me at the time, in an awesome band called Still Rain. Was convinced they would hit it big with that band. Two albums still in reg rotation on my playlist…

I wish it worked that way. Kinda like back in the old days, unsolicited cassette demo's got chucked in the bin. :). If I had a contact and they were willing, then it'd be def. worth it. Same with Andertons in the UK!
Yeah, seems it's big business for the hot shot You Tubers to demo a pedal now. Didn't Paul Reed Smith get backstage at an early Santana concert and convinced him to give his "homebuild" a try? Media rules our lives unless you get off the grids.

it would be cool to hear some heavier music w the Marquesan. It does have a very angry distortion fuzz side to it when called upon

Maybe the reason more people responded to the color clean boost use of the Maquesan is that so many of us really like the sounds of our amps but know they can be opened up a bit without changing the tone much.

That is really important to me, because I really want my blonde amp and guitar mated. I dont need something that decouples my rig but pulls it together better for a specific direction
