I Dropped a set of Gotoh Mod# SG-381 Keystone Locking Tuners on my Electromatic G5655T. Mounting holes at 7 o,clock... Made in Japan, perfect fit. Very Good quality, Stays in tune. Many different finishes and button styles, also installed a TV Jones Power tron and Power tron Plus w/ TV Tone Harness. Extremely Happy! Hope this helps you out.

About a year ago I put a set of Hipshot locking tuners on my 2015 Pro Jet (the one in my avatar, which I believe is a 5435). The Hipshots come with a universal mounting plate, so there's no drilling needed, but I did have to remove the existing bushings, if I remember correctly.

I'm not completely sure whether the tuning stability is really any greater than it was with the stock tuners (and I know there are those who believe that really good winding technique is very important to tuning stability as long as the nut is properly cut and lubricated). The main advantage with the locking tuners seems to be the speed of string changes.

I asked once about locking tuners for my G5420T, and someone recommended these:

I found a set of those on eBay (from the same seller, I think) and had a guitar tech install them. I think they've been working fairly well.

If your G5655T is the same model as my 2018 Chinese build, then you just made my day. What say, wingnutt?

Mine is a Chinese 2019 G5655T Center Block Jr., Bought new last year, Serial # starts with 19 so assuming it's a 2019. Not 100% sure but I believe they Should work with yours. I put the same on a 2017 Chinese Duo Jet , easy drop in no drilling. ( e-bay) I bought the Chrome w/ Ivory Keystone style for my metallic Jade Grey. Look's great and plays and sounds like a dream. Just make sure you get the 3+3 right and left version.
Feel free to contact if need more info. Enjoy your Gretsch! Have a good day T-Bawler

I love the sperzels on my 5420 but mine were the Standard sized.
Did they take the same screw holes?
I might get some for my 5120 or 5125

Nope, they don’t match up. Actually, weirdly, the top holes are unusable. The body of the tuner blocks it and the bottom hole in the tuner does not match up. My set is living in my parts bin. I put these on that were mentioned.

The EZ mount don't use screws; they use a small pin on the tuner housing that digs in as you tighten the nut.

Old screw holes are visible, but not noticeable.
