"I Can't Tell You Why" is a song by the American rock band Eagles that appeared on their 1979 album The Long Run.
It was written by band members Timothy B. Schmit, Glenn Frey and Don Henley.
Recorded in March 1978, it was the first song finished for the album and the first Eagles song to feature Schmit on lead vocals.

Dedicated to all the peoples seeking the truth.
I can't tell you why, but He has the answers!!!

Feedback is much appreciated.

Is it TB Schmidt that sings lead on this one? I saw an Eagles Concert on TV and they had Vince Gill singing lead. When anyone asks me "Who is the greatest guitar player?" My response is Vince Gill. He is one of the millions of A++ guitar players out there but he can sing like Vince Gill.

HI Freshy,
TB Smith sang this song for the Eagles on the record.
I also love Vince Gill as a guitar player, and as a singer more!!!
Vince Gill is underrated, and I love him so!!!!
Thanks for mentioning him as part of this song history.
Love your post.
Respectfully,
Rene

Do you play guitar as well?

Nice Job! Love this tune.

You're hitting all the falsetto notes that I can't even come close on...

On the other hand, if you ever need someone to sing a Tom Waits or Leonard Cohen tune, I'm your man! My voice lives well into the mid-low baritone register.😂

Nevertheless, all my favorite singers are Tenors, which makes it difficult for me to cover many of the songs I love.

Hi @tartanphantom ,
I am so thankful for your wonderful comments.
I am also so glad to know that you are in the mid-low baritone singer.
Where are you located?
And what is you favorite Leonard Cohen song?
Have you recorded some of Tom or Leonard songs.
Thanks again for the great response!!!
respectfully,
Rene

@Rene Asologuitar - On a day I'm catching up with some good music, including forum produced creations, I actually had this song in my head earlier today and saw you recorded it.

Nice combo of a Timothy Schmidt special with the richness of your voice. Your acoustic really delivered the rich instrumental platform that makes this a great creation. Thanks for sharing!!
