Hello Fellow Gretsch people!

I just came across this forum and decided to join. Recently I got back into playing guitar and purchased several Gretsch to compliment my other guitar and mandolins.
I'm really enjoying playing them and am back into the guitar pedal effects and all. Good stuff!
I live in the US (Texas) and work from home.

The Syncromatic is my latest acquisition, and it seems to have a static issue (sometimes). I'm going to try the static guard dryer wipe-down I read about on the forum.

I've been playing guitar since I was a kid, used to sing and play, performing in my 20s. Was in the Navy for seven years, then got out, was married, had two kids, then divorced 27 years later. Now remarried for four years, I work as a sales engineer for a large network security platform, write science fiction books, smoke cigars, and generally enjoy life. Big on 3d printing (Prusa) as well as designing science fiction models.

Welcome to G-T! I played all maple mandolin when I young, and when I picked up a Gretsch, it felt right immediately.

Beautiful guitars, I love that matte black Synchromatic. I wonder if the static is a design issue with mounting the knobs on the pickguard. I have a friend with an old strat that makes static noise when he runs he finger back and forth on the pick guard. Could be a fun test to see if that's the source.

See ya around!
