Long time lurker and refugee from the now defunct Gretsch Pages. Been playing off and on for 50 years. Came from mostly playing Martins but I'm a bender and my old hands can't take bending 13's anymore. First wanted a Gretsch after seeing Billy Zoom with his Sliver Jet playing with "X" in L.A. back in the 70"s. Bought a Brian Setzer Hot Rod couple years back but didn't like the 9.5" fingerboard radius (LOVED everything else and the TV Jones classic PU's) sold it and now I have this. 2013 G6119 Chet Atkins '59 Re-issue. I freaking love it ! Anyway... tons of great info here and I'm glad to finally jump in the water with all of you. P1010008.JPG

Hi! How's it goin'?
Another GDP refugee has arrived.
Thanks everybody! Yeah...I guess there is/was, a little bad blood floating around between the two sites but I had nothing to do with any of that nonsense. I've been lurking here for years and it does seem less "judgemental", for lack of a better term.
The thing I really like about my Gretsch is the zero fret. The action on this is really low which works for me because I only fingerpick. The pickup is a TV Jones Powertron which I like the more I play it. The bridge is a Compton Titanium. Anyway...just glad to be here.

I've been active on both platforms (as Wabash Slim) and haven't noticed any bad blood here. The GDP for the most part was OK, but, as you say, more judgmental. Luckily, no Chonnys or Thunderballs here. Too many people got chased off of the GDP that shouldn't have been---Brian Setzer and Jack Black come to mind. There's no politics, either. The mods here keep things happy. It seems to be an island of civility in the cesspool of the internet.

Welcome from another left coaster.. a little north of you. Great guitar! And totally agree the zero fret works well for action. Titanium Compton and TV Powertron.. all 3 bases covered. Enjoy!!
