I am trying to re-wire my G5220 back to the original setup, but have a black and white wire (right) that I cannot see on the website wiring diagram. For reference, the pot shown is the master volume, and there are no wires coming from the top side of the pickup connector switch.

Any help would be appreciated!

As it has a capacitor on it, are you sure that’s not the tone control, and the lead going to the output jack? A pic of the back of the pot would be helpful
Edit - I looked at the pic closer and can see a resistor too so it is the master volume with treble bleed. The black/white lead should go to the tone control, then the output jack from there

Thanks! Where on the tone control does it go to? Also, am I right in thinking the black lead is ground?

Yes that’s the right wiring diagram. The long white (and black) wire to the right of the last picture - that should go to the master volume. Your switch doesn’t look like it’s wired correctly. The black white and red is a pickup and should go to a volume. The other white and black lead should go to the jack

Think I've sorted it now! The next step is getting the correct pickups/rings (Gretsch parts are a nightmare to get hold of in the UK...)

I’m in the UK too, I’ve bought Gretsch pickups and rings from Thomann and DV247 in Germany. I’ve a pair of gold FT-5E blacktop Filtertrons (with rings) surplus to requirements if they’re of interest to you?
