I was once told, "Lou, we love you, we want you to stay here forever".

6 months later, 5;30 PM on a Friday, I was told I'm being laid off.

That was 40+ years ago.

I was 27 and I still remember.

My wife tells me to get over it.

I recently went on their website and everything was great.

IMO, they're villians and liars.

You're as good as your last paycheck.

That's cynical and I don't like it but I've been lied to and I'm a dweller.

Dweller? Is that kind of like my always waiting for the boot to fall? In my companies defense I’m still employed. But it’s really hard to find a replacement for me. If corporate could they probably would at a fraction of the pay.

Dweller means that I think about past experiences.

I'm big on history.

I love history.

I was a history major.

I could have gone on to graduate studies but chose not to.

At the time, I was making tremendous $'s.

Things fluctuate.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of my boss.

He's toxic.

I don't like talking to him.

I'm addicted to $'s.

So, I wait for the day, and relish retirement.

Gotcha, I’m lucky most, not all, most of the Managers are good people, one has never had an original thought in his head and rattles back your ideas like they’ve been his for years then spends a lot of time telling you why it should be. I **** him down the other day and probably Po’d him.

I always think the past is important if you aren’t aware of it you are doomed to repeat it. i am in a similar boat paid well but since I oost everything during the housing crash years I’m still fighting to recover and get back out of debt.

We certainly do choose our own type poison don’t we. In my company I’m known for getting it done and don’t ask my opinion if you want the truth. I turned down going into management but soon I’ll have to do something. I’m only late 50’s but this physical of a job after many hours of driving is killing my body. I digress you’re a dweller and I’m a very social anti social person. Sounds like a new thread. I’ll go expound there!
