Black pickguard for G2622 Streamliner

I bought a midnight Sapphire streamliner G2622 that came with a faux tortoise shell pickguard. I think it would look so much better with a black one. Does anyone know a source for one? I found one but they want $70 which is ridiculous. Surely there is something cheaper - or someone's take off part? Or another model that uses the sane guard? Any insight is appreciated. Thanks!

G'day, yeah I was looking for a white pearl pickguard for my Walnut Stain 2622. The only place I found that had some was quickguards, but for me in Australia including shipping was around $130! For a small bit of plastic!

There are a few custom makers around, you'll just need some accurate measurements. I hear Paul Setzer does some really nice work, do a search for Paul Setzer Pickguards here on the forum, some very happy customers! Does other stuff as well, not just pickguards. I think he's still in business, maybe someone else could chime in here.

Otherwise I have the black one that came on my guitar that I could send you, the problem being that at the moment I'm a long way from where that is, and won't be back around there for maybe a couple of months. Keep that in mind for a longer term backup plan though if nothing works out in the meantime.

I haven't seen any retail that sells that pickguard.

Angela sells a few mixed pickguards but the only black one is for a G5125. You'd have to modify it to fit yours.

I wonder if (Fender) customer service could help? I have a 2019 G2622T-P90 that has a black pickguard but it is cut for the P-90s. You could make it fit.

As @Randy99CL has said, Angela. They do have a black one but it is a different shape and probably would need trimming. I put a clear one on my G2622. It is the model for G5120 G5420T. (Pic below) I had to do some custom trim to fit around the pickups. You could get a clear one and paint the bottom.

howdy.. are you handy w a basic jigsaw and a dremel? You can buy small sheets of black phenolic and make your own for cheap. Easy to work with as long as you do it out doors. I use a white china marker to get my shape after tracing a cardboard cutout, then use the jigsaw to cut the pattern. I clean it up w a barrel sanding bit on the dremel as well as a few hand files, then sand w 1200 grit. I rub the edges w some black dye and start shooting light coats of poly hitting each dry coat w 0000g stainless. 3 coats later its good to go. Guys pay good money for this type of pickgard, but you can do it for around $25.

I’m in the opposite boat. I have a left handed single barrel stain that came with a black pickguard and I really like the faux tortoise. Unfortunately, we can’t trade because of my left handedness.
