'71 country gent

I'm nearing finished on the restoration of this old '71 Country Gentleman. All the gold plate has been replaced except the bridge. I'll have to re-plate the old on since no one makes the old type bridge anymore. There's a little binding repair to do and freshening the nitro cellulose laquer on the neck and headstock, but this old gent is a wonderful playing, straight necked and true fretting instrument that just needed rescued from quite a bit of neglect. I know that re-doing all this won't add to the resale value, but man, it sure is great to see just one of these old beauties get back near their original glorious state. All the electrical is original and playing through the fender mustang amp is just beautiful; that smooth, classic gretsch sound.
I'll send photos when we're completely finished.

The only thing better than pictures of the completed project would be seeing before and progress pictures too. ;)
