Does anyone know how many 6120 CGP's were made? Were there only 75 total made or were there 75 made in different runs? My son just purchased one and he was wondering.
Yes they have a mono or stereo output.I don`t know a number but these are very rare guitars. As I remember correctly these were stereo, weren`t they?
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume it stands for "Certified Guitar Player," the term bestowed by Chet Atkins upon a very few people:Beautiful. What is the story in them? CGP Stands for?
According to the serial number it is a 2009 model. They were made between 2008 -2010 ,yours looks like it's from the second run or last run,as it has a V cut Bigsby, the original run had a B6.
I always thought the first production run was only 75,how many after that ,i have no idea.
You may be right on 75 units each year. I have a G6122-59 and the neck on the CGP is not as wide as my Nashville Classic.Interesting,so they must have went with the V cut right in the middle of production!
I too, have passed on a few of these, tried to convince myself at the time i didn't have a need for a stereo guitar,i still don't,and not being able to try before i buy i was worried about the width of the neck ,it's still a lovely guitar.
Just a thought,could they have made 75 in 2008, 75 in 2009, and you guessed it,75 in 2010?
So which guitar do you prefer, the 6122-1959 or the CGP?You may be right on 75 units each year. I have a G6122-59 and the neck on the CGP is not as wide as my Nashville Classic.
I would usually agree but there was a member here who bought one brand new and it came with a V cut.The v shaped bigsby must be non original.
