Is the bigsby thru-strung on either the 5420 or 5427?

With all the improvements made to the more recent 5420s, I decided to pass on a 20-year-old 6118 in so-so shape with a paint job I really didn’t care for (esp the back). Thanks for all your advice everyone. I’ll be going for a 5427 or a 5420. These new Electromatics are unbelievably good!

Thanks Tele, sounds like you’re not a fan of the Mudswitch. Is it something that limits tone? Does it scare a lot of Gretsch folks off? Does this model have the string-thru bigsby’s?

Sorry no link, does have definite wear, some pick scratches. I know now that the extra switch on the top side is a tone switch, therefore no tone adjt knob. Would the pick ups be the famed TV Jones? Some guidance appreciated!!😁😁

Got a line on a used 6118 120 Anniversary for $1950 cdn. Sounds a little rich for 20 yr old guitar. Prob not locking gotohs. Pickups are TV Jones Classic Filtertron replicas. why replicas? And has an extra switch on top side?? Comments or help??!!
