    Early vs Late Career Music

Revolver is by far my favorite of their work. Imo, as you move back in time from there , their music is more and more generic pop (if creative and well done), and moving forward, just self-indulfent weirdness, even though i am strong supporter of self -indulgence and weirdness! It felt like...

Yep, there's a similar saying, "never meet your heroes."

    Early vs Late Career Music

Interesting as I think the exact opposite for the Beatles.

    What's the most satisfying sound?

I like the moka pots style but I'm too easily distracted and after ruining 2 on the stove, had to find another style.

My black Friday loot, Gretsch +++ and I blame

What a haul! It takes me a decade to buy that many guitars. Love the Nick 13. It fan of interesting fret markers. So done with dots.

    What's the most satisfying sound?

What are the birds in Sydney that sound like babies being tortured?

    What's the most satisfying sound?

Hearing my family laugh, and my old kitties purr. Honestly, I had a hard time going to sleep after our second cat died.

    Falcon-ish Schecter model

I agree except for the Jet ‐ Les Paul. As someone who had a Les Paul first and hardly heard of Gretsh told recently, I had the same impression. But the reality is the Les Paul (and jet) was not remotely original in shape; it was just a solid, junior / smaller version of the very common single...

    New guitars and cases ??

I wouldn't trust most hard cases for this, definitely not the Gretsch pro lines one. The other issue imo is that most cases can take one big hit, and the protection is gone. If the airline drops my guitar once, I'm not gonna assume they won't drop it twice. So where a case is needed, most cases...

The two geeetars I’ve been playing the most

I've always liked trems but I didn't like howhat some would swallow the note for non-chord work. My amp has bias tremolo, not sure what it means, but it allows the notes to push past the trem before it is subjected to the effect, which results in more clarity imo.

    Aged finishes

I've seen that some guitars lighten and some guitars darken with age. Is that dependent on the starting color (and they all gravitate to some equilibrium), light source, finish type, wood type, another environmental factor, or . . . ?

    New guitars and cases ??

A lot of custom guitar makers ship with high end gig bags like mono and reunion blues. Imo they are as good as the average hard case on average.

    New guitars and cases ??

There are gig bags and there are gig bags. I have a nice mono one that most people would find overpriced. I'm not traveling much with my guitar - and if I did, I would not use the gretsch case, I would get a flight case. Gig bag is great for me. Imo most hard cases can only take one hit and...

    Scalloped fretboard?

Supposedly bending is easier as the string is not rubbing against the wood, and if needed you have a little more room under the adjacent strings. I see this as a potential trainer or exercise as well. I forces you to use a lighter touch as fretting the board will be out of tune, while that...
